Read the Channels page
Session touch, first touch, and your own channel rules.
The Channels page counts your tracked form submissions by the channel that brought each visitor in. It works from the first lead, with no threshold.
Session touch and first touch
Session touch credits the visit the form was submitted in. First touch credits the visitor's first visit. A visitor who found you through a Google ad and came back later from an email counts as Google Ads under first touch and Email under session touch.
How a channel is chosen
For each lead, VisitorLayer checks in this order and stops at the first match:
- Your project's own channel rules, in their order.
- An ad click ID, such as a Google or Meta click ID.
- The campaign's UTM medium, such as cpc or email.
- The referring site, such as a search engine or social network.
- Direct, when none of these is present.
Group channels your way
Open Channel grouping on the Channels page to add a rule, for example to count three property portals as one channel. Saving a rule regroups past leads too, and channels a rule assigned show Your rule. Webhooks send the same channel to your CRM.
